Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 23 October 2026
Please read these terms before you buy tickets or sell tickets through Tickean. They explain our role, your rights and our responsibilities in plain English.
1. Who we are
www.tickean.co.uk and the related Tickean services are operated by Tickean Holdings LLC ("Tickean", "we", "us"). We are a company established in the United States and we do not have an establishment in the United Kingdom.
We provide the following information in line with regulation 6 of the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002 and, where they apply, regulation 8 of the Provision of Services Regulations 2009:
- Name: Tickean Holdings LLC
- Legal form: Limited Liability Company (LLC)
- EIN (US Employer Identification Number): 37-2239745
- E-mail: hola@tickean.com
- Website hosting: Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA
2. About these terms
These terms apply to everyone who uses Tickean. They are split into parts so that you can find the rules that apply to you:
- Part A (sections 1 to 4) applies to everyone.
- Part B (sections 5 to 13) applies to buyers who buy tickets as consumers.
- Part C (sections 14 to 23) applies to organisers who use Tickean to sell tickets for their events in the course of a business.
- Part D (sections 24 to 30) applies to everyone.
3. Our role: a ticketing platform
Tickean is a ticketing platform. We provide the technology that lets organisers publish events and sell tickets, the checkout, and the delivery of tickets to buyers.
The organiser of each event is the seller of the tickets for that event and is responsible for holding the event. When you buy a ticket, your contract for admission to the event is with the organiser. Your contract with Tickean covers the booking service: the checkout, the issue and delivery of your tickets and the related customer support.
The organiser's name is shown on the event page and at checkout. The organiser may set its own entry conditions (for example age limits, bag policies or ID checks), which are also shown on the event page or at the venue.
4. Language and copies of these terms
These terms are available in English. We do not file individual contracts in a way that is accessible to you, so we recommend that you save or print a copy of these terms. Your order confirmation sets out the details of your purchase.
Part B — Buyers. 5. Your account and verification
To buy tickets you need to give us your name, e-mail address and mobile number. We verify your mobile number with a one-time code sent by WhatsApp. You can see your orders and tickets in your buyer area at mi.tickean.com.
You must give accurate details and keep your verification codes private. Tell us straight away at hola@tickean.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.
6. Prices and booking fee
The organiser sets the ticket price. Tickean charges buyers a booking fee for the booking service. The total price you pay, including the booking fee and any taxes, is shown up front, before you start the checkout, in line with the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 and the guidance of the Competition and Markets Authority on price transparency.
Before you pay, the checkout shows the ticket price, the booking fee and the total. We do not add mandatory charges at a later stage. Prices are shown in the currency indicated on the event page and at checkout.
7. How a purchase works
If a payment is declined or the tickets you chose are no longer available, no contract is formed and you will not be charged.
- Choose your event, ticket type and quantity, and seats where the event has a seating plan.
- Enter and verify your contact details. Where the organiser requires it, enter the name of each attendee.
- Check your order summary. You can correct any input errors before you pay by going back in the checkout.
- Confirm the order with the payment button. This is an order with an obligation to pay.
- The contract is formed when the payment is authorised and we send you the order confirmation by e-mail and WhatsApp.
8. Payment
Card payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered in Stripe's secure payment fields and Tickean does not store your full card number. Your payment may be checked automatically for fraud. If you think a payment was wrongly declined, contact us.
9. Delivery and use of tickets
Your tickets are delivered as QR codes by WhatsApp and e-mail after the order confirmation and are also available in your buyer area. If you do not receive them, check your spam folder and then contact us.
Each QR code can normally be used for entry once. Keep your tickets private: if a copy is scanned first, the organiser may refuse entry to anyone presenting the same code later. Do not alter, copy or forge tickets.
Entry is controlled by the organiser and is subject to the organiser's entry conditions and to the law.
10. No 14-day cancellation period
Tickets for an event on a specific date are services related to leisure activities. Under regulation 28(1)(h) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, the usual 14-day right to cancel a contract made online does not apply to them. Once your order is confirmed you cannot cancel it simply because you have changed your mind, unless the organiser's own refund policy shown on the event page allows it.
11. If an event is cancelled or changed
- If the event is cancelled, you are entitled to a full refund of the price you paid, including Tickean's booking fee.
- If the event is materially changed — for example a new date, a new venue or a different headline act — you may choose to keep your ticket or to ask for a refund.
- Refunds are made to the payment method you used. The organiser is responsible for funding refunds of the ticket price from its proceeds; we will tell you how and when a refund will be paid.
- We will contact you using the e-mail address and WhatsApp number given in your order.
12. Transfer and resale of tickets
Whether a ticket can be transferred or resold is decided by the organiser. Resale through Tickean is only possible where the organiser allows it. Where tickets for an event in the United Kingdom are resold through a secondary ticketing facility, sections 90 and 91 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply, including the duty to tell the buyer the face value of the ticket, the seat or standing area and any restriction on who may use it.
13. Your legal rights
Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 we must provide the booking service with reasonable care and skill, and the information we give you about the service is binding. If we fall short, you may be entitled to have the service repeated or to a price reduction. For more information, contact Citizens Advice (in England and Wales), Advice Direct Scotland or Consumerline (in Northern Ireland).
Part C — Organisers. 14. Organiser account
Organisers manage their events, sales and payouts in the organiser dashboard at app.tickean.com. Part C applies to organisers acting in the course of a business (business users); it does not apply to consumers. If you open an account on behalf of a business, you confirm that you are authorised to bind it.
You must give accurate account, company and contact details (for example your Companies House number where you have one), your tax identification details and your bank details, and complete the identity and verification checks required by us and by our payment providers. We may refuse or delay activation or payouts until these checks are complete.
15. Organiser obligations
As the seller of the tickets and the party responsible for the event, you must:
- publish accurate and complete event information, including date, time, venue, line-up, ticket types, entry conditions, age limits and accessibility information, and keep it up to date;
- set prices that comply with consumer law and tell buyers about any material change or cancellation promptly;
- hold the licences and permissions required where the event takes place, for example a premises licence or temporary event notice under the Licensing Act 2003 in England and Wales (or the equivalent in Scotland or Northern Ireland) and, where music is played, a music licence from PPL PRS;
- comply with health and safety, fire safety, equality and data protection law and any conditions set by the venue or local authority;
- hold the event as advertised and deal with buyers fairly;
- use buyer data received through Tickean only as allowed by data protection law and our Privacy Policy, as an independent controller.
16. Fees and payouts
Tickean charges organisers 0 % commission on the ticket price. Our income is the booking fee paid by buyers, which is shown to buyers as part of the total price.
We pay the ticket proceeds to the bank account you have registered (UK sort code and account number, or IBAN), on the schedule shown in your dashboard. We may hold back part of the proceeds as a reserve to cover expected refunds and chargebacks, taking into account the event date, the sales volume and the risk involved. We release reserves once the risk has passed.
17. Refunds and chargebacks
If you cancel or materially change an event, you must offer buyers the refunds described in section 11. Refunds of the ticket price are funded from your proceeds. If the proceeds already paid out are not enough, you must repay us the amount needed on request.
If a buyer obtains a chargeback, we may deduct the amount and any related fees charged by the payment provider from your future payouts or ask you to repay them. We will give you the information we have so that you can respond to the dispute.
18. Your content
You keep the rights in the names, images, logos and texts you upload. You grant Tickean a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence, for the duration of the event listing and for a reasonable period after it, to host, reproduce, adapt the format of and display that content on Tickean and in our communications about your events. You confirm that you have the rights needed to grant this licence and that your content does not infringe anyone's rights or the law.
19. How events are ranked
In line with Regulation (EU) 2019/1150 on platform-to-business relations as it applies in UK law, we explain here how events are ordered. Listings and search results are mainly determined by the filters and search terms the user chooses (such as location, date and category) and by the date of the event. Selections of featured events may also be shown on the home page and in the explore section.
20. Access to data
In your dashboard you can access the data on the orders for your events, including the names and contact details of buyers and attendees, ticket types, prices paid and check-in data. You do not have access to buyers' full card details or to data about purchases for other organisers' events. Tickean uses aggregated data about the use of the platform to operate, secure and improve it, as described in our Privacy Policy.
21. Restriction, suspension and termination
We may restrict or suspend an event listing or an organiser account if there is a reasonable suspicion of fraud, a breach of these terms or of the law, a risk to buyers, or a request from a competent authority. When we do so, we will give you a statement of reasons at the latest when the restriction or suspension takes effect, and you can ask us to review it through our complaints process.
We may end our services to an organiser for any reason by giving at least 30 days' notice with a statement of reasons. We may end them without notice where the law requires it, or where you have repeatedly breached these terms. You may close your account at any time, but you remain responsible for events already on sale, refunds and chargebacks.
22. Complaints from organisers
Organisers can raise complaints about our services, about technical problems or about any decision we take affecting them by e-mail to hola@tickean.com. We will consider complaints promptly, deal with them in a transparent way and tell you the outcome. If a complaint cannot be resolved, both parties may agree to try mediation before going to court.
23. Changes to the terms for organisers
We will tell organisers about proposed changes to Part C or to any part of these terms that affects them by e-mail at least 15 days before the changes take effect, unless a shorter period is required by law or to deal with an unforeseen security risk. If you do not agree, you may close your account before the changes take effect.
Part D — General. 24. Acceptable use
- Do not use Tickean for illegal purposes, fraud or to sell counterfeit or invalid tickets.
- Do not use bots or automated means to buy tickets or to collect data from the site.
- Do not interfere with the security or operation of the platform.
25. Intellectual property
The Tickean name, logo, software and site design belong to Tickean or its licensors. You may use the site for its intended purpose only.
26. Availability of the service
We aim to keep Tickean available at all times, but there may be interruptions for maintenance, updates or reasons beyond our control. We will try to keep interruptions short, especially around on-sale times.
27. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law (including under section 65 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for consumers and the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 for business users).
Buyers: we are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our failure to comply with these terms or to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for the holding of the event itself, which is the organiser's responsibility.
Organisers: subject to the first paragraph, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or indirect or consequential loss.
28. Complaints and disputes
If you have a problem, please contact our customer service first at hola@tickean.com. We will reply as soon as possible and try to resolve the issue.
We are not a member of an alternative dispute resolution scheme. Nothing prevents you from going to court.
29. Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the part of the United Kingdom where you live.
